I caught you in the dusking dawn
in the faith I trample, chase
in the hidden hate
My dust kicked up in the west
the red haze of sins adrift
the grit of it in my eyes
I saw you, a bolder blaze
burn it all a glory color
I lift my weathered hand
squint against my past
swallow grateful tears
All along I didn’t know you
the light
the light
she rises always
in our wake
I set down the earth
to face it
